CHOYA UMESHU CO., LTD.(HQ: Habikino City, Osaka and CEO: Shigehiro Kondo) hereby announce that The CHOYA CRAFT FRUIT is awarded “Best in Show Liqueur” in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) which is the Competition’s highest honor in liqueur category.

This is the first time for any Japanese or Asian liqueur to win this award.* The CHOYA CRAFT FRUIT is also awarded “DOUBLE GOLD” and “Best Fruit Liqueur”, one of “Best of Class” meaning the best example of each spirit type.
Besides that, The CHOYA GOLDEN UME FRUIT” and “CHOYA KOKUTO” are awarded GOLD.

What is The San Francisco World Spirits Competition(SFWSC)

Founded in 2000, SFWSC is one of the most influential competition of its kind. The 2021 Competition was held at One Market Restaurant in San Francisco from April 1st through April 20th. It was another record-breaking year for more than 3,500 entries from all corners of the world.

DOUBLE GOLD:Awarded to the entries that receive a Gold medal rating by all members of the judging panel
Best of Class:The best example of each spirit type
Best in Show:Chosen from the Best of Class winners, these awards highlight the best spirit in each of these four categories: White Spirit, Whisky/Whiskey, Brandy, and Liqueur

Beautiful authentic umeshu with the ripe Nanko-ume puree.
Puree fruit flesh of the quick-freezing ripe ume and blend with umeshu aged for 1year. The extra fruitiness with a luscious sweetness complements the long-lasting aging notes of this authentic umeshu.

The official tasting notes describe it as “a stunning, sweet-smelling Japanese explosion of racy apricot, plum and peach flavors in a delicious smooth and tangy-fresh liqueur.”

Also “The CHOYA GOLDEN UME FRUIT” and “CHOYA KOKUTO” are awarded GOLD. GOLD is awarded to exceptional spirits that are near the pinnacle of achievement.

Steeping Japanese Nanko ume only with sugar and alcohol and aged for more than 1year. Authentic umeshu with more than 2L sized and soft-and-thick-skinned ume fruits stuffed inside. Can be enjoyed along with the rich aroma and crispy tartness.

Made with 100% brown sugar syrup. Authentic umeshu made only with Japanese Nanko ume, brown sugar syrup, alcohol, and dark rum. Enjoy its rich and mellow flavor and deep taste after dinner on-the-rocks, with soda/milk, or pouring on vanilla ice-cream.
